The solution I use for comparing clips is the ABX utility for the foobar2000 player. It does the blinding and makes it easy to tell if I can really hear a difference or not.

I&#039;ve learned a lot (hopefully) since those tests, these days I use a test tone to match levels if level matching seems appropriate.

		<description>I believe I heard subtle differences between the preamps (especially when switching rapidly between samples so as to only hear the first 8 seconds), but find it impossible to say which I liked better. I think any of these would be suitable for high-fidelity recording, and features, build quality, value for money, and company support would figure more into my decision to go with one over another than sound.

Your dynamic mic samples were recorded at a much lower level than the capacitor mic ones. I had to nearly triple the gain on my soundcard&#039;s headphone amp to approximately match the levels.</description>
