Hi, Mike,

There are currently a lot of pretty darned good all solid acoustics coming from China and other places. These guitars are really a great bargain if you can find them used. Look at the Unofficial Martin Guitar Forum, especially in the "Guitar Critics Corner" an you'll find a number of recommendations.

I sold my last electric, a sweet Tele, a few years ago. I still gaze at gorgeous Strats, Teles, and Gretsch, but the acoustic has really taken over for me.

Thanks for your comments,
Fran

hi there doug
i hope that is your name as that was the only one i seen there, thanks for a great insight to this instrument
i have been watching the masterbilts for some time now and i think i'm ready to buy knowing a little more what to look for and at..
your playing is excellent, great sound i was thinking alvarez or takamine but to get to the type of woods the masterbilts have i would be way over budget
i am playing for over 40 years always on my strat
feel its time to retire not me !!! the strat go finger style
for a while
again thank you so much
